Stained Glass Light Catcher, Jupiter

Made in a crafts class I took in high-school. The first time I used a soldering iron!

square canvas, womans lower body in jumpsuit with green tint

Jun Fukamachi Second Phase, Painted

This is the piece that actually got me started in album cover painting! I enjoyed the aesthetic but couldn't afford to/wasn't into collecting records. Absolute banger of an album - would highly recommend!

man ready to scam you smiles advertising his psychic consultation services

Arataka Reigen Poster, Painted

From the series Mob Psycho 100! Had a 2 year gap inbetween sketching it and painting it... before I brought my paints to school with me these types of gaps were not uncommon.

painting of album cover, half-and-half two different robot masks

Random Access Memories, Painted

This album was done during undergrad! Unknown before now - I chose this album for two reasons. Surprisingly, it's not because it's my favorite (that'd have to be Discovery). I knew I needed tone and underpainting practice for a current wip and the slight difference in the blacks of Thomas' and Guy-Man's masks were incredibly nice for that. The second being that I struggled with painting letters - still not my favorite tbh.

Majora's Mask Pixel Art

After making a couple sprites for extra content in my group game dev project, I kinda fell in love with making pixel art. Made this as my first non class related piece. (Just like the rest of the pixel art and icons on this website!)

Musiks Cube, C2C Crochet

For this bag, my goal was to have something that fit my car's center console and was easy to take in and out of the house - so I added a lining and bottom piece for support. The rest of this page is going to detail the process for any interested crocheters.

Yarn Weight: Worsted (I used Acrylic) Hook: US H (500 mm)

Start by making the six panels. Each sub cube side consists of a 3x3 c2c crochet square - if you want to make a solved cube, you can make a solid 9x9 square and stich the seams on after, like I did.

On each panel, you're going to want to use the surface slip stich pattern to create a tic-tac-toe pattern. For the embroidering route, you'll want to use the chain stitch. (For scrambled cube - joining the squares in black by sc through the layers - ridge facing up) Then, using black - do 1 round of sc around each of the panels ~120 if you do 3 sc per c2c square and each corner.

The sides can then be joined however for the actual bag construction - I like using the mattress stitch but it really depends on what vibe you want to go for! For the top embroidery part I tried to replicate the "rubik's" but as "musik's" (for the CDs ba-dum-tssshh). Not great at embroidering letters on crochet so I don't have any tips. (sorry lol)

The lining was sewn into a box and then joined to the rim of the opening and lid with some spare rings sandwiched in between. To get bottom support I cut a sqare from a lettuce tub and put it between the crochet and lining layers. There is definatley room for a zipper or other closing mechanism, I opted to leave it off for now.

anime couple walking side by side - boy's umbrella is titlted to protect girl from rain, but the angle makes it so the water pours on her head instead of protecting her

Monthly Girl's Nozaki Kun, A Funny Scene

Probably one of my all-time favorite series! I wanted to do a scene from this show, and although there were many contenders, I felt like this moment captured its vibe the best!

Howl and Sophie taking a walk in the skies, from the studio ghibli film

Howl's Face Took So Long, Painted

Legitimately took as long as the rest of the painting I had to redo it so many times.

large painting of mountain and cherry tree, three small paintings showing a cat, bee and jellyfish, and on mid-sized painting showing a autum day by a mountain

Painted @ Alyssa's & ACMW, A Series

One of the best party ideas (that I immediatley started using myself) was to have a second quieter activity room, in this case painting, away from the main event. The largest and smaller three were all done at the same party!

The second mountain was from an ACMW Bob Ross painting social. Haven't had the opportunity to talk much about them on this site otherwise - and given this was meant to incorporate the things that made me fall in love with my CS degree - I can't not mention them! Without ACMW I don't know if I would have made it through my undergrad. Words cannot express how much my time there has impacted me :)

Knit Sweater Vest

This pattern was whispered to me by the yarn like it was the green goblin mask. I heeded the call and got a banging sweater vest.

Painted MTG Tokens

Made some custom tokens for my proxied commander deck! (Nethroi, Apex of Death) I like having the smaller size so I can keep my zones from getting too card heavy.

Tangerine Hair Scarf, Crochet & Embroidery

Made a tangerine themed granny sqare head scarf. (can really be any of the orange adjacent fruits)

Small green tentacle'd creature vomiting up rainbows, in crochet

Infant SunStalker from Kingdom Death Monster, Crochet

This was a gift/comission for a cousin. The rainbow vomit can be stuffed in the stomach with plenty of left over room to use for dice storage!

Ducktop

Introducing... the Duck Desktop Buddy!

Have you ever felt like Natalie's website was... a little lonely? You would no doubt be spending hours here if it weren't for that fact. Alternatively, you just want to learn more about what I could put under "ducks" and why I wanted them on this site.

Well the answer to that is here! Nice! What those of you who have seen me coding - or talked to me about coding extensions - may already be aware of, I am an avid VS-Code Pets fan! So the desktop duck buddy (or ducktop buddy ba-dum-tssh) is a little nod to my setup. It was also partially inspired by the game Placid Plastic Duck Simulator!

I also added biography content and the name backstories for each of the ducks.

So how do you use this? You can select any of the ducks below and hit launch, which will then spawn the chosen duck in the bottom right-hand corner of the site. To keep it running while you look at the rest of the content, please select the minimize button. Hitting close will exit the program entirely. Happy duck watching!

Higgs Boson

Birthday: 10/27/20

A clubmate from the sci-fi club was doing a (distanced!) Halloween event, passing out ducks and candy to any members that wanted them. Being very physics focused at the time, I named him after the Higgs Boson particle. For the rabbit-hole oriented among you, I recommend the related topic 'sombrero potential'.

Napstar

Birthday: 3/24/23

A professor in the department had a surplus of rubber ducks he was giving out to students. Known for my love of pirates, this duck was grabbed and given to me. The name comes from the classic music piracy software of the same name. Why "Napstar" in particular? Its logo had a similar purple color to the vest!

Timmy

Birthday: 8/31/23

Like Tommy, was a gift from one of my brothers. Named after one of the Nooklings in the animal crossing series, this name comes namely from the duck being part of a duo, and one that references gaming.

Nami

Birthday: 10/18/23

ACMW - mentorship duck decorating event. I saw the headphones and knew I had to incorperate them somehow. Did not really plan anything, but went for a "gaming accessory" aesthetic. Nami is a character that I use for a gaming pfp. The keyboard featured on the baseplate uses the QWERTY layout.

Nimda

Birthday: 10/29/23

tOSU's 2023 hackathon gave out many forms of swag. My personal favorite was obviously, the duck. Due to the numerous hacking related jokes my groupmates and I made, I wanted to give this duck a name related to something compsci/hacking/virus related. So, this duck is named after the nimda virus* - a malicious file infecting worm - very fun! :)
*which is 'admin' spelled backwords!

Brock

Birthday: ?/??/??

To be completely honest, I have no clue where this duck came into my life, or when. All I know is that it was sometime after Spring 2022 and before May 2025. I wasn't entirely sure what the blue part on his head was, but it vaguely reminded me of a long handle frying pan. Naturally, I thought of this classic line: If anyone has any information on duck events that I might have aquired this fella at, please let me know.

Guy

Birthday: 10/2/24

2024's ACMW duck! With this duck I did not have any ideas for a theme like I did the previous year, so this duck was mostly prop oriented. Gave him the glasses and chain because they were cute, and the chair because he needed a throne to sit on ^u^. Not entirely sure where the name came from, adored nonetheless!

Shaduck the Hedgehog

Birthday: 2/1/25

More obvious then the others, this duck is named after the hedgehog on which he is modeled. Also, his middle and last names are 'The' and 'Hedgehog' respectivley. 100% intentional and not because there aren't really any duck puns that worked with hedgehog.

Coming Soon... More Content!

Hiiiiii!!! So right now I'm in the process of filling this section out. Have some ideas planned but nothing I feel comfortable showing now. Until then, you can enjoy a gallery of bass pictures and my daily song recommendations!

Song of the Day:

I forgot what I was originally gonna put here and had weirdly few notes recorded about this section.

In any case – grapevine appreciation time!!! My favorite part of my parent’s yard has got to be the grapevines. I loved going up to them and biting the tendrils right off the vine! (saying loved as if I don’t do this anymore daghj) On the right you can see a real, unedited photo of me taking a bite.

I’m trying to get an indoor transplant going, so I’ll be updating this section with progress!

I'm dropping more LibreOffice impress templates, but they'll be on my own account instead of the Open Source Club @OSU's account. It will all be linked here as well though!! Date TBD

This website was made with pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript!

There might be some real "test-in-prod" events ahead of us here- appreciate your patience as I iron those out.

Source code available on Github.

SPOILER WARNING there’s some things I hid around this website so avoid looking at the code for answers please!

Also, besides the .gifs in this window (link can be found on the right) I did all the art myself!
